The MRes Animal Science at Hartpury University is a research-focused postgraduate programme designed for students who wish to develop advanced expertise in animal science and contribute to industry-led innovation. Through a substantial independent research project, students investigate contemporary issues relating to animal welfare, behaviour, nutrition, production systems, livestock management, reproduction, biomechanics and conservation.
The programme combines advanced research training with access to Hartpury's specialist facilities, commercial enterprises and industry partnerships. Students work closely with experienced researchers and industry professionals while developing practical research, analytical and scientific communication skills.
Graduates are prepared for careers in research, consultancy, animal welfare organisations, agriculture, conservation, policy development and doctoral (PhD) study.
