Learn How to Create Healthy and Sustainable Food Systems
Trent University’s Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems (SAFS) program helps you become an expert in creating healthy, affordable, and sustainable food systems. As the world faces challenges like climate change and food insecurity, this program prepares you to find solutions that support sustainable food production and distribution.
Understand the Entire Food System
In the SAFS program, you’ll learn how food is produced, distributed, and consumed, both locally and globally. You’ll study how food systems work and discover how to make them more sustainable and fair for everyone. The program will teach you how to tackle the challenges facing our food systems today and in the future.
Gain Hands-On Experience at Trent Farm
A major part of the program is the chance to get real-world experience through Trent Farm. You’ll work on sustainable farming projects, learn about ethical farming practices, and see how sustainable agriculture works in action. This hands-on learning gives you the skills you need to succeed in the field of food systems.
Choose Between BA or B.Sc. in Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems
Trent offers two options for the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems program: the BA (Bachelor of Arts) and the B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science). The BA focuses on the social and policy side of food systems, while the B.Sc. focuses more on the scientific and technical aspects. Both options give you a strong foundation in sustainable food production, so you can choose the path that matches your career goals.
