Manitoba work experience pathway if study in Manitoba
- Study in Manitoba: Graduate from a 1+ year post-secondary program from a Designated Learning Institute (DLI) in Manitoba.
- Work in Manitoba: 6+ months of continuous full-time employment with the same employer, Job is in demand occupation list, NOC 0, A, B, Not closely related to your Manitoba education.
- Submit expression of interest.
Manitoba work experience pathway if study outside Manitoba
- Graduate from a 1+ year post-secondary program from a Designated Learning Institute (DLI).
- Work in Manitoba: 12+ months of continuous full-time employment with the same employer, Not closely related to your Manitoba education.
- Submit expression of interest.
Manitoba in demand occupation list
The MPNP is locally driven and based on the needs of Manitoba employers. They select internationally trained and experienced workers who have the skills needed in the local labour market. The MPNP In-demand Occupations list provides a regularly updated listing of which occupations qualify as ‘in-demand’ in Manitoba.
Many occupations on the in-demand list are limited to specific skilled streams of the MPNP and candidates must meet the specific criteria and requirements for one of the specific pathways listed under each stream. Candidates working in an in-demand occupation will be prioritized during Expression of Interest draws.
Francophone candidates
For the purpose of applying to the MPNP, a francophone is someone who has French language proficiency that is equal to or greater than their English language proficiency. Your language proficiency must be supported by results from an MPNP-approved language test.
Minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels
The CLB levels listed in the in-demand occupations list are the minimum levels across all Skilled Worker streams; however, some streams/pathways have higher eligibility requirements. For example, people applying under the International Education Stream require a minimum of CLB 7 in all four skill areas (reading, writing speaking, listening) regardless of their occupation.
