Program Requirements
  • Academic Requirements:

    Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of the following fields:



    • Medicine

    • Medical Technology

    • Life Sciences

    • Health Sciences

    • Bioinformatics

    • Informatics Engineering

    • Applied Mathematics

    • Biostatistics

    • Bioengineering

    • Biotechnology



    Applicants from other academic backgrounds may be admitted with approval from the Systems Biology programme committee.



    For non-EU/EFTA applicants:



    • The gap after completing a Bachelor’s degree should not exceed five years.



    Applicants must prepare a scientific essay based on one of the announced topics as part of the application process.


  • English Language Requirements:

    English proficiency at B2 level (CEFR).



    Accepted tests include:



    • IELTS Academic – 6.5+

    • TOEFL iBT – 81+

    • Cambridge English – 176+

    • Pearson PTE Academic – 59+

    • LanguageCert IESOL B2

    • Duolingo English Test – 120+

    • Password Skills Plus – 6.5+



    Note: British Council EnglishScore certificates are not accepted.



    Applicants may be exempt if:



    • English is their native language

    • Previous education was conducted in English


  • Special Requirements: Applicants must submit:

    • Motivation letter
    • CV prepared according to Europass format
    • Scientific essay

    The motivation letter should answer questions such as:

    • Why have you chosen to apply to this programme?
    • What do you expect to gain from the studies?
    • Why does your background make you a suitable candidate?
    • How will the programme help you achieve your career goals?
    • How are informatics or mathematics used in biological sciences?
    • Why are computational methods useful in natural and biological sciences?
    • Provide examples of problems you have solved or studied in informatics, mathematics or statistics.
    • Provide examples of how systems biology can be applied in neurosciences.

    Territory Restrictions

    Applications are not accepted from the following territories (based on citizenship):

    • Bangladesh
    • Pakistan

    The Systems Biology programme has reached its application limit for these countries.

  • Submission Timelines: You should submit your visa / TRP file as early as possible as processing times may vary.

  • Post-Registration Matters: After registration, all academic, refund, withdrawal, and compliance matters are between you and the school. The agent cannot influence internal institutional decisions.
  • Work Rules: Any right to work during studies depends on Lithuania regulations and the conditions of your permit. This is not guaranteed and can change.
  • Immigration Policy Changes: Immigration rules may change without notice. Neither the school nor MakeStudy is responsible for decisions made by authorities.
  • Legal Standing: You confirm that you do not have any legal issues or travel restrictions that could affect your eligibility to study or stay abroad.
