Master of Systems Biology

Course Overview

The Master’s programme in Systems Biology at Vilnius University is an interdisciplinary programme developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Life Sciences Center, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics.

The programme combines biology, mathematics, and computer science to analyse and model complex biological systems. Students learn to apply modern computational tools, statistical models, and programming techniques to study biological processes and health-related data.

The curriculum focuses on areas such as:

• Biological systems modelling
• Bioinformatics and computational biology
• Synthetic biology and bioengineering
• Neurobiology and systems neuroscience
• Statistical analysis of biological data
• Mathematical modelling in life sciences

Students gain practical experience in analysing biological systems using advanced analytical tools and programming methods. This interdisciplinary approach prepares graduates to work at the intersection of biology, technology, and data science.
