The Mental Health Intervention graduate certificate program prepares students to support individuals, families and communities experiencing mental health challenges. This intensive eight-month program provides specialized training in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, trauma-informed counselling and community outreach.
Students explore multiple approaches to mental health care, including medical, biopsychosocial, recovery-oriented and peer-support models. The curriculum emphasizes holistic care planning, social determinants of health, mental wellness promotion and collaborative intervention strategies.
Through community-based learning and applied projects, students develop the practical skills needed to support vulnerable populations, assess client needs, coordinate services and promote positive mental health outcomes. Graduates gain the knowledge and competencies required for front-line mental health, addiction and community support roles.
