Honours Bachelor Of Therapeutic Recreation (dtr)

The Honours Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation (DTR) is a four-year degree program designed to prepare students for professional careers in therapeutic recreation, rehabilitation, healthcare, and community wellness services. Students learn to assess client needs, design individualized recreation interventions, implement therapeutic programs, and evaluate outcomes that enhance physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being.

The curriculum combines therapeutic recreation theory with practical application across healthcare, psychology, health sciences, leisure studies, and research. Through classroom learning, field experiences, and a mandatory work term, students gain the skills required to support individuals of all ages in achieving greater independence and quality of life. Graduates are prepared to work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, long-term care facilities, mental health programs, disability services, and community organizations
