Fire Protection Engineering Technician

The Fire Protection Engineering Technician diploma program at Seneca Polytechnic prepares students for careers in firefighting, fire safety and fire protection engineering. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on training to provide a strong foundation in fire protection principles and emergency response.

Students develop skills in firefighter fitness, fire suppression techniques, technical rescue, wildland firefighting, fire code compliance, fire investigation and fire safety inspections. The curriculum also includes training in fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems and building fire protection technologies.

Graduates are prepared for careers in fire services, fire prevention, fire alarm systems, fire safety consulting and fire protection engineering support roles. The diploma is also recognized as a preferred qualification for many firefighter recruitment opportunities across Ontario.
