Northern’s Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) program equips students with the specialized knowledge and hands-on experience needed to support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Audiologists in a wide range of clinical and virtual care settings. As a CDA, you'll play a critical role in helping individuals improve their communication and hearing abilities.

Speech, Language, and Hearing Programming
Learn to implement therapy programming after the SLP or Audiologist has assessed and developed a treatment plan. -
Clinical and Virtual Therapy Support
Gain practical experience providing support in both in-person clinical environments and virtual care settings, a growing trend in communicative healthcare. -
Intervention and Communication Techniques
Understand how to elicit and sustain targeted communication behaviours using intervention methods grounded in evidence-based practices. -
Understanding Speech and Hearing Conditions
Build in-depth knowledge of physiological and functional communication disorders, including developmental delays, speech impairments, language processing issues, and hearing loss. -

Hands-On Experience Through Clinical Practice and Placement

- Academic Requirement: The applicant must have a degree or equivalent qualification in communication disorders, linguistics, human anatomy and physiology, social sciences, or human services.
- ELP Requirement: IELTS: At least 6.5 overall PTE: Minimum score of 61 TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 89, with a minimum of 22 in Writing and Speaking Duolingo English Test: Score of at least 130

It’s the agent’s responsibility to inform the college about the visa refusal within 14 days.

If you withdraw within the first 10 working days of the term, you will get a partial refund.

If you withdraw after 10 working days, no refund will be given.

Fees paid for future terms will be fully refunded.

If your study permit is refused, you can get a full refund if you submit the refusal letter within the first 10 working days.
