The Engineering Foundations Certificate at Douglas College is a one-year university transfer program designed for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Students complete first-year engineering coursework in chemistry, physics, calculus, programming, engineering design, and mathematics while preparing for direct transfer opportunities to institutions such as UBC, SFU, and UVic. Small class sizes and strong university articulation agreements help students build a solid foundation for engineering studies and future careers.
- Academic Requirement: English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 with minimum Grade B. Physics 12 with minimum Grade B. Chemistry 12 with minimum Grade B. Pre-Calculus 12 with minimum Grade B. Applicants are ranked based on the GPA of the required admission subjects. Higher GPA applicants receive priority admission offers.
- ELP Requirement: IELTS 6.5 Overall with minimum 6.0 in each band OR equivalent. PTE 56, Duolingo 110, TOEFL iBT 83.
- Special Requirement: This is a full-time engineering transfer program. Applicants must meet all subject-specific admission requirements. The program offers transfer pathways to UBC, SFU, UVic, and other engineering degree programs. A non-refundable tuition deposit of CAD 350 is required upon acceptance.
