The Associate of Arts Degree – Future Teachers at Douglas College is a two-year university transfer program designed for students who aspire to become elementary or secondary school teachers. The program provides a strong foundation in education-related studies, including psychology, sociology, philosophy, history, English, and mathematics. Students complete 60 transferable university credits while developing communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills essential for teaching careers. Graduates can transfer to teacher education programs at leading British Columbia universities and continue toward a Bachelor of Education degree. An optional Co-op opportunity allows students to gain valuable workplace experience before graduation.
