Accounting

The Accounting Certificate at Douglas College provides students with a strong foundation in financial accounting, managerial accounting, business communication, and accounting software applications. This one-year program prepares graduates for entry-level positions such as accounting clerk, bookkeeper, accounts payable clerk, and finance assistant. Students may also continue their studies through seamless transfer pathways into the Accounting Diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration programs.

Program Requirements
  • Academic Requirement: General College Admission Requirements. Applicants must meet at least one of Douglas College's general admission criteria and English language proficiency requirements. It is strongly recommended that students have completed Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of C, as some accounting and business courses require mathematics prerequisites.
  • ELP Requirement: IELTS 6.5 Overall with minimum 6.0 in each band OR equivalent. PTE 56, Duolingo 110, TOEFL iBT 83.
  • Special Requirement: Students should have a strong background in mathematics. Foundations of Math 11 with a minimum grade of C is strongly recommended. Graduates may transfer directly into the Accounting Diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration program at Douglas College.
