Over the span of four semesters, this program combines classroom and hands-on learning within our cutting-edge tool making facility. Following the third semester, you'll engage in practical, on-the-job training via a co-op placement, fostering the development of advanced tool making expertise.

Upon successful program completion, you'll be awarded an Ontario College Mechanical Technician diploma. Moreover, you have the potential to receive credit for the first and second levels of your in-school apprenticeship training, providing you with a significant edge as you progress toward achieving your tool making or general machinist apprenticeship.

  • 21st-century tool making

During the classroom and lab/workshop components of the program, you'll work with 21st-century tool making technology and equipment while becoming skilled in:

  • Precision Machining
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programming
  • Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
  • Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)

Admission Requirements (Program Eligibility)

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
  • One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U)
  • IELTS: overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5 or
  • PTE: overall score 58 with no individual section below 49 or
  • TOEFL iBT: overall score 80 with no individual section below 20 or
  • DUOLINGO: overall score of 105 with no individual subscore lower than 85
