The MSc Data Intelligence with Placement Year program is designed to equip students with advanced technical and analytical skills needed to thrive in today’s data-driven world. This course focuses on transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making across industries. Students gain expertise in data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data technologies, data engineering, and statistical modelling.
The program blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience. Students work with real datasets, advanced analytical tools, cloud platforms, and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. They also learn about data visualisation, predictive analytics, business intelligence systems, and ethical considerations in data management. A strong focus is placed on solving real industry problems through projects, seminars, and case studies.
The additional placement year provides valuable work experience in a professional data-focused environment. This allows students to apply their learning in real business settings, build industry connections, enhance employability, and gain practical exposure in roles such as Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Consultant, Machine Learning Engineer, or Data Scientist.
- Academic Requirement:
Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce degree of at least three years duration or Professional Degree (4 years+) For programmes requiring a 2:2 • 3-year Bachelor's degree (Honours) from an accredited university with a minimum overall average of 55% or CGPA 6.0 out of 10.0 depending on the university • 3-year Bachelor's degree (Science) from an accredited university with a minimum overall from 55% or CGPA 6.0 out of 10.0 depending on the university • 4-year Bachelor's degree (Eng/Tech) from an accredited university with a minimum overall average of 55% or CGPA 6.0 out of 10.0 depending on the university.
