International Foundation Year

The International Foundation Year is a comprehensive pathway program designed specifically for international students who need additional academic preparation before entering a bachelor’s degree. This course helps students strengthen their subject knowledge, improve English language skills, and adapt to the academic standards and learning style of university education.

Throughout the program, students study core modules such as academic writing, research skills, mathematics, and critical thinking, along with subject-specific modules tailored to their chosen degree pathway—such as Business, Engineering, Computing, Science, Health, Social Sciences, or Humanities. The curriculum is structured to build confidence, develop independent study habits, and enhance problem-solving and communication abilities.

Students benefit from small class sizes, personalised academic support, and dedicated tutors who guide them through coursework, assessments, and university-style projects. The program also introduces students to campus life, digital learning tools, and essential study techniques used in higher education.

Upon successful completion of the International Foundation Year, students gain guaranteed progression (subject to meeting requirements) to the first year of selected undergraduate degree programs at partner universities.
