You need a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with at least 60–65% marks (this is equal to a UK 2:1).

Relevant subjects include:

• Nutrition / Nutritional Sciences
• Biological or Biomedical Sciences
• Health Professional Education

If Your Degree Is Old

If you completed your Bachelor’s degree more than 5 years ago, you must show one of the following:

• You have done further studies (final-year level or higher) in the last 5 years, OR
• You have actively used your degree in a related job during the last 5 years

Research Requirement

You should have:

• Studied research methods, or
• Completed a final-year project / dissertation during your Bachelor’s degree

Work Experience (Helpful but Not Mandatory)

Having knowledge of the dietetics profession is important

Work or volunteer experience in healthcare or social care will be an advantage

Interview Requirement

You must pass a values-based interview

This interview checks your attitude, ethics, and suitability for the profession

Medical Fitness

You must pass an Occupational Health check

This confirms you are medically fit to work and train as a dietitian
